Growing our business in Richmond means striving to give back to the very place where we create our lives. Through our work and donations, we’ve supported nonprofits like Central Virginia festivals, music organizations, and community health- or education-based endeavors. We refer our clients and vendors to one another so all boats rise along with ours.
Brooke and Bob Rhodes… We’re the owners, and we bought the business back in 1995. We moved it from Mechanicsville and it became known as James River Press. We are still family-owned, which keeps us nimble and personable.
We moved into our current “bear building” in 2006, located in downtown Richmond. In 2016 we added two new presses to our capabilities. We became BambooInk in 2017 to better reflect our approach of finding unique solutions for clients. Yes, we deal in “paper and ink” but that phrase didn’t say quite enough about our desire to be good stewards of the planet and our community.
We do like that inky smell. We find joy in figuring out the best way to use our capabilities to print a job for a client. Anyone can print professional materials, but we also want to provide a savvy service and enjoy our days together.
Clients, vendors, and employees work with us because we are engaging, thoughtful, fun, and inclusive. After all, making an enduring impression involves more than putting ink on paper.
